The whole Optimus idea is based on ensuring the greatest amount of quality time between the sailors and the trainers - in other words, that parents must be prepared to participate in practical support functions.
In 2007 the concept is being extended so the most active sailors can be placed in groups of 6 with a common trainer. The offer is also available for sailors in the talent team level since there is currently a lack of offers available to these sailors.
The first group of 6 sailors has been formed, and as always, the concept is freely available. All that is required is that the parents of 6 children agree to find a trainer, agree on the racing calendar for the season, find a rubber dinghy and pay the costs. Peter Salskov, leader of Team Optimus is available to provide assistance starting the process and other practical help, such as contact with trainers and managing payments.
Its about offering the best possible resources - to provide a training that matches the best available, without being results-oriented and forgetting what training is all about - it's about our childrens' desire to sail and the way to make training more exciting!
